The short film "Impian Bagas" is a film that is full of social issues and realities that occur in Indonesia. This film depicts education as a social issue that cannot be felt by all Indonesian people, especially children in remote areas. This film also discusses the role and obligations of the government in providing adequate education for the community, one of which is the implementation of a 12 year compulsory education program. Other issues that are also discussed in this film are issues of poverty, social inequality, thought patterns and stereotypes in society.Â
The director uses the character Bagas as a representation of hundreds, or maybe even thousands, of children out there who have not had access to optimal education, so it is hoped that the screening of this film will increase awareness regarding the importance of education for parents, families, the government and the country. Therefore, the author hopes that this article will not only serve as literacy material, but also as a reflection of the social reality that exists in Indonesia today. As ordinary people, we can start showing our concern for children in Indonesia by providing support according to our respective abilities through social media and physical media in the form of donations or donations. If not us, then who will start?
