Now, many gossip and hoaxes about history are spreading internet. And not a few people stuck in historical gossip. Example: Majapahit is Islamic sultanate and Borobudur is Propeth Sulaiman Alaihissalam's Palace.
What method that can save us from historical hoax? I will tell you some tricks to avoid historical hoax. Â Let's read the article to the end to know how we can avoid historical hoax.
1.Watch carefully the primary and secondary source. We must know what is primary source and secondary source.
Primary source is a source written by historical actor. For example, Carita Parahyangan is a primary source about history of Sunda-Galuh Empire because it's written in age of Sunda Empire. And Negarakertagama is also a primary source about Majapahit kingdom in East Java, because the writer is Hindu priest in Majapahit kingdom.
And for history of political situation in Java after the ruin of Majapahit, including war beetwen Demak sultanate and Hindu kingdom of Daha written by Tome Pires, a Portuguese Journalist in his book, Suma Oriental. It is written at the time of incident, because Tome Pires went to Java to report political situation in Java.
Secondary source is source that written after the incident. For example, in Sundanese history, Naskah Wangsakerta is written after the ruin of Sunda Empire. The secondary source are not as strong as primary source. If a secondary source looks contradicting with the primary source, don't use it.
2. Always double-checking every news
If we hear a electrifying historical news, don't receive it without checking the primary and secondary sources. Example, we hear a news that said Majapahit is Islamic Sultanate. We must check more sources about Majapahit empire. Examples scriptures Negarakertagama and Pararaton, and rejecting the news that inappropriate with  historical sources.
3. Choose a compatible sources
We can choose a compatible sources for studying history. In Youtube, we can choose Asisi Channel. Example for learn about Indonesian history , who discuss history of Indonesia based on historical scriptures and inscription.
