How to cope with new situation?

Well, I am not that type of person who is good at social skills. I was and am lack of social skills, and still learn.

I didn't have any courage to start conversation with people. Until one day... I realized that I have power to break the boundaries. And we all have the power to break the boundaries.

Here are some tips that I can give to cope with new situations:

1. Don't be nervous!

Well, it's impossible not to be nervous especially when it comes to face a new place or meet unknown people. Feeling like "alien" and afraid of falling to adapt are normal. But, don't let your nervousness win over you!

Keep calm and take a deep breath. Make sure that nobody catch you nervous. If you are really alone in a new place, just take a good sit there. Keep calm and look around your surrounding, study on what people are doing, what is the topic which is discussed, etc.

2. Sit or stand up properly.

By properly means that you have to sit in a manner way, if you are female, don't open your legs or have much gestures with your hands. And if you are male, you have to sit or stand straightly, which shows your confidence.

3. When you are confused, don't ask too much.

This seems simple but not as simple as it seems. Sometimes, when we are in a confusing situation, we immediately get panic and try as soon as possible to cover it up. But, not every confusing situation needs immediate solving. When I was in a confusing situation, I let myself be confused but still manage not to be panic. Sometimes, I ask if it really needs to be asked such as, "Do you know how to operate this computer?" , "Do you know how to registrate this program?" something like that. Never ask unknown people like "Do I look confidence enough?" "Is my outfit appropiate?" "Do my make up look too much?" or something like that, never. That shows how not-confident you are.
