The scientific and naturalistic paradigms of knowledge offer two contrasting lenses through which to understand the world. The scientific paradigm views phenomena as a single, objective, measurable reality, based on the assumption that researchers can maintain distance in order to discover universal truths. Therefore, the issues raised focus on cause-and-effect relationships with the main objectives of explaining, predicting, and generalizing. In contrast, the naturalistic paradigm views phenomena as a subjective and socially constructed multiple reality, based on the assumption that meaning is created through interaction in a particular context. Thus, the issues explored are about meaning and process, with the aim of achieving a deep and rich understanding and interpretation from the participants' own perspectives.

First: The concept of scientific knowledge asserts that knowledge is obtained through systematic, measurable, and rational methods with the principle of objectivity to avoid bias. This paradigm uses empirical methods such as surveys, experiments, and statistical analysis to test the relationship between variables. In educational management, this approach is used to quantitatively assess the effectiveness of policies and programs, for example, the influence of leadership style on teacher motivation or the impact of certification. Valid data, statistical analysis, and generalization form the basis of accountable knowledge and support data-driven decision making.

Second: The natural paradigm views social reality as something complex, pluralistic, and contextual. Knowledge is understood subjectively through human interaction with the environment. The main focus of research is not on quantifying data, but rather on the meaning behind social experiences. The approach used is qualitative, for example through interviews and field observations.  In educational management, this paradigm emphasizes understanding processes, contexts, reflection, and empathy.

Third: The differences between the scientific and naturalistic paradigms include: Ontology: Science views reality as singular and objective, while naturalism views it as plural, contextual, and meaningful. Then Epistemology: Scientific maintains distance between researcher and object, while natural emphasizes researcher involvement and interpretation. And finally Methodology: Scientific uses surveys, experiments, statistics; natural uses interviews, observation, and narrative analysis.

Fourth: The choice of paradigm influences the design, instruments, and results of research. The scientific paradigm is suitable for quantitative research and generalization, while the naturalistic paradigm is more appropriate for understanding context and subjective meaning. The right paradigm produces findings that are relevant and useful for education policy.

The conclusion of this discussion is that the choice of paradigm determines the perspective, the relationship between the researcher and the object, and the research method. The scientific paradigm is suitable for quantitative research that emphasizes objectivity. The naturalistic paradigm is suitable for qualitative research that emphasizes context and meaning. The right choice will produce findings that are relevant to education.
