Today is the 36th day of Anand Krishna’s hunger strike, since 2 days ago his conditions increasingly weakened and worrying. Not only because he refuses to eat but he also refuses to get medication as well.
He only accept Nutritional intake through standard infusion. Head of the Police Medical Services (YanDokpol) Sukanto Hospital. Police dr Ibnu Hajar said, "Anand physical condition is like a car that still runs, but by using fuel reserve" however if he continue on strike this fuel reserves will run out.
Anand Krishna currently experiencing difficulties in opening his eyes and speaking. He also in difficulty to move his body. This condition is also known by the medical team.
Anand Krishna will stop his hunger strike unless the authority take back his status as the detainee. His demands are his detention must be cancelled and changing of chairman of the panel of judges (Hari Sasangka). Those two points will indicate that the trial process will run fair and objective. Anand Krishna will attend the trial process unless those points are met.
For more than 6 months of the trail process he has been attended, he found that only 10% are concerning about the sexual harrasment (the case which he was charged on) and others merely about his thoughtscontained in his 140 books. You might wonder why?
Despite his condition continued to decline but Anand Krishna will continue his hunger strike, because he did not commit the accusation, and also the court still has not been able to prove that allegation, but the sentence has been said even when the court still run. Anand is a national asset. He understands much about the culture and wisdom of this country. As the son of this nation, he has right to have a fair andobjective trial. Hopely the prosecutors may still have a conscience to hear the protest of humanity done by Anand Krishna unless this country could lose its best son.
Anand Krishna's attorney, Otto Hasibuan stated, through the hunger strike, his client wanted the entire law enforcement officers opened their eyes to injustice in the practice of law enforcement in this country.
"We've asked him (Anand) to stop the hunger strike. But he refused. He wants the Supreme Court, the judicial institutions, and the court will open the injustice that happened," Otto said via telephone on Sunday (04/10/2011) night.
This Senior lawyer reveals, this country is still difficult to appreciate the struggle for justice. No wonder when the action performed Anand did not receive significant attention from the judicial institutions.
Meanwhile, a Catholic prominent leader and humanist of Indonesia, Frank Magniz Suseno revealed, in legal proceedings there should be no reason to detain someone who has not been declared guilty and harmless and very cooperative.
"From the point of the court I think he must be immediately released from the detention because there is no reason to detain him as also by some legal experts and people who have assisted Mr. Anand so far," said Franz when visiting Anand Krishna.
