Some People Stop Watching Movies

Maybe it's sounds weird. How come people stop watching movies which can give us entertainment to reduce stress? Watching movie seem to be a fun activity for most people. However, some people think that watching movie is only wasting our time. They might say that watching movie cannot solve their daily problems. Movie only make few people rich, while many other still live in poor condition. So, they think that watching movie is just spending our money to make the rich become richer. 

As we know, people are different. Each one of us has different point of view in seeing things. We must respect other people opinion and never think that our opinion is the most correct one. If some people think watching movie is useless or bring no benefit... just okay, relax and stay calm. Maybe those people have certain belief or cultural values which make them think movies are not attractive. 

Perhaps, such opinion has a good point too. I mean, movies today are mostly just remake, reboot, or sequel from the previous well known ones. In short, movie makers today are no longer creative in delivering new idea. They just follow the steps of previous movie makers and add new technology in making new movies. So, basically there is no genuine idea anymore in today movies. 

In Indonesia, the problems seems to be in lack of variety. Indonesian movies genre are mostly horror or drama. Some are comedy, but might not be very funny for "more intellect" audiences. I think that's a risk of making movie in such a heterogen country like Indonesia. Different person may have different taste of movie genre. I like action movies, but other people might like horror better, and so on. 

Not mention that the more we get older, we tend to have less need to watch movies. Being mature means we become more selective in everything, including watching movie. Maybe it's not a general opinion. Some other people may not like watching movie anymore simply to save their money, don't have time, or already have other activity based on their hobby. Yes, it's true that movie is not the only entertainment in modern society.

Jokingly speaking, I myself think let's not watch movie anymore simply to avoid the actors or producers from becoming rich and famous... haha. You know, some actors can be paid 20 or 30 million USD (maybe more) simply to act in one movie. In contrast, many people around the world are still stuck in poverty, no job, or working very hard but under payment. Life is indeed not fair, don't you think? Can stop watching movie become a protest against this unfair system? I don't know. Anyway, I don't watch movie as often as I used to. Perhaps, I do really get older... haha.
