Here I go again...writing blog in English. This time I would like to go back to year of 1990. Some of you might have not been born yet. Some others might have already been born, but still a small kid. While me, I was 20 years young back then...haha. I was a college student and enjoy life very much at that time.

Speaking about music, the year of 1990 was still full of energy in rock and metal genre. Thrash metal was on the peak moment and there were many albums released at that time. Just to mention a few, some of metal albums were Coma of Soul (Kreator), Souls of Black (Testament), and Rust in Peace (Megadeth).

There was no internet back then. So if we want to listen to new albums we had to go to music store to buy cassette or audio CD. It was fun time for young people like me at that moment to visit music store and looking at the album artwork which were display in the store. Since the price was more affordable, I usually bought cassette and not the audio CD.

I remember having many metal cassette in 1990. I listen to the music with my friends on cassette or CD player and plug it into the speakers. In fact, I and my friends listen to rock music too while we were studying together in campus. I took art and graphic design faculty back then so that it was okay to study and listen to music in the same time.

Of course, beside music I also enjoy movies in the late 1980 and early 1990. In 1990, we watch movies through cinema and we were willing to line up just to buy movie tickets. Anyway, some of my favorite movies were Die Hard 1-2, Predator, Lethal Weapon, and Steven Seagal or Jackie Chan movies. Indonesian movies were not good at that time.

Life went on. During the decade of 1990, I was busy studying and doing many other things. I also tried to write articles and sent them to newspaper or magazine. As we know, reformation movement happened in 1998 and many things change in Indonesia since then. Today in 2025, I'm just grateful of still being healthy and in good shape...and yes, I also still like metal music as ever (haha).
