Functions of Global/International Islamic Education Management

In the era of globalization, Islamic education is required to be managed professionally and adaptively to the development of the times. However, there is still a gap between Islamic managerial values and global management practices. The main challenge lies in trying to integrate spiritual values with modern management approaches. With the application of integrative management functions, Islamic education is believed to be able to compete globally without abandoning its Islamic identity. This essay aims to analyze the four main functions of Islamic education management, namely planning, organizing, directing, and supervising.

First: Planning Function in Islamic Education Management; This section explains the meaning of planning is the first step in the management process, in the form of drafting concepts and frameworks to achieve goals optimally. The five important requirements in planning are precision and clarity, timeliness, the relationship between operational phases and the person in charge of operations, attention to practical aspects and organizational skills. Planning criteria include: based on existing data, prepared by experts, accompanied by detailed details, simple, adaptable, and sustainable. Planning activities include prioritizing, goal setting, procedure formulation, and handing over responsibilities to individuals and groups.

Second: the Organizational Function of Islamic Education Management; Organizing is the process of determining structure, activities, interactions, coordination, structural design, authority, and tasks in a transparent, and clear manner. Organizational requirements include the division of duties, authority and responsibilities, the creation of structures, and the unification of individuals in a group. The goal is to help individuals work together effectively within the institution, facilitate the execution of tasks, and supervise subordinates. The Organizing Process helps to detail the entire work, divide the workload into activities, communicate the work of members logically, establish mechanisms, and monitor the effectiveness of the organization.

Third: Leadership Direction Function; Briefing is the process of assigning tasks, orders, and instructions that allow staff to understand the desire of the leadership and contribute effectively. The main components include the director, the recipient of the direction, the content of the briefing, and the method of the briefing. The principles of the direction process include a religious approach, example, consistency, openness, gentleness, policy, and commandments, prohibitions and guidance. The directions given must be realistic and in accordance with the ability of the recipient so that they can be implemented properly. Effective briefings encourage motivation, work spirit, and sincerity in achieving the goals of Islamic educational organizations.

Fourth: Supervision of Islamic Education Management; This section explains that the definition of supervision is a continuous monitoring process to ensure the implementation of contingency planning, both material and spiritual. An absolute requirement before designing supervision is the existence of an organizational plan and structure. The characteristics of supervision include material and spiritual aspects, a humane approach, and prioritizing Islamic values. Supervision activities include observing the implementation of operational activities, monitoring organizational performance, and comparing actual performance with the goals that have been set.

Islamic education planning must be systematic, precise, sustainable, and involve clear responsibilities. Organizing organizes structures, tasks, and authority for effective teamwork. Leadership briefings involve religious principles and effective methods in achieving common goals. Meanwhile, supervision ensures the implementation of the plan through humanistic, material, and spiritual monitoring in a sustainable manner.
