This modern world has given rise to platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, etc serving as a base for people to get a lot of information. People get to show and learn about different cultures, ways of dressing, and interacting. One of the hotly contested issues is masculinity and femininity, especially in the context of parental roles.

This discussion looks at how social media accounts from different cultures express their gender identity through their posts. It also looks at the other side of the debate concerning the stereotype on gender roles, as in the What Would You Do? (WWYD) video "Taking the stigma that dads can't handle 'mommy business", as well as real examples from social media.

This video shows how a social experiment aimed to explore the stigma surrounding dad's involvement in childcare, often seen as a mother's responsibility. In this case, a dad goes to a restaurant with his daughter for lunch. An actress taking part in the social experiment begins to scold him, admonishing him for taking up "women's work" and asking why a man assumes such responsibilities.

What is their intent? To provoke a reaction: Would people decide to stay silent? Join in the ridicule? Support the dad? Observing the video, the reactions of the shoppers were mixed:
Some were even with him and praised the fact that dads are indeed taking up proactive roles.
Others appeared to be taken aback, registering that a man participating in taking care of children was still novel.
Some chose not to speak or were socially uncomfortable, indicating the presence of traditional sociocultural gender expectations.

That the video captures the tension between feminine and masculine values:
The dad encountering mockery from the actress indicates the display of traditional masculinity, expressing concepts such as control, power, and rigid distinctions of gender roles.
The gentler side is exhibited when the audience is caring, empathetic, and responds to norms in an unexpected manner, which also fosters a person should not be obliged to assume childcare duties simply because they fall under a specific gender.
The shifting traditions and the contemporary viewpoint demonstrate that society is progressing. The reactions captured in the video are particularly relevant to the intersection of culture and the more nuanced sides of gender identity.

This video was uploaded by a media outlet based in the US. It shows the cultural values of American society, especially regarding gender equality and changing parental roles. Although it is set in a Western country, the themes discussed, such as negative views of dads who take care of their children, still occur in many other countries, especially in places that still adhere to strict gender roles, such as Indonesia and Japan.

As YouTube content, this video not only involves people at the scene but also a wider audience through the internet. The comment section serves as a platform for netizens to express their opinions, whether in support or criticism. This demonstrates that social media can act as a mirror and amplifier of cultural identity changes in society.

In the video, there is a part where the actress asks the dad "doesn't it make you feel like less of a man?", showing the old view of men's role in the family. Statements like this reflect that there is still an assumption that men should work outside the home, as it is an obligation that a man has to do. But in contrast, people who defend dads say things like "that is an honorable job" or "that's the best job in the world", which shows that many people are now open-minded and modern, they start to see the role of dads at home as something positive.

The social experiment in the video shows that men can also take on the role of caring for children, which is usually considered a woman's job. By showing this, the video is helping to change the way society views gender roles. It also shows that old norms about male and female roles are shifting and becoming more flexible.
