Jami' Al-Hidayah Mosque was built in the Tapos area, Depok City, in 1978. Before this building had the status of a mosque, initially, it was only a prayer room. Change in the status of the building to a mosque occurred when the renovation of the Al-Hidayah prayer room was in 1993. Mr. Abdul Muthalib, chairman of the DKM (Masjid Prosperity Council), stated that the construction of the Jami' Al-Hidayah Mosque has not been completed until now.
One of the developments he was referring to was the construction of a tower still ongoing to this day. The construction of this tower began last January and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2022. The existence of a minaret at the Jami' Al-Hidayah Mosque has been Pak Abdul's dream since he was elected as chairman of DKM in 2003. The reason for minaret construction at the Mosque Jami' Al-Hidayah is to be a marker of the mosque and to install loudspeakers that will call the Muslims around it.
The construction of the tower and dome at the Jami 'Al-Hidayah Mosque is said to require funds of Rp110 million. Regarding the funds needed for the construction of this tower, Mr. Abdul said that he had been trying to find the funds himself until now. "I look for funds to certain people, my friends, close friends, office friends, and neighbors," said Pak Abdul. Before the tower's construction, he said that funds for other structures of the Jami' Al-Hidayah Mosque were also obtained through the same method. He even sent proposals to various state departments.
In addition to funds, Pak Abdul said that building a mosque requires moral encouragement. The moral impetus he has received so far in continuing the construction of the mosque until now is the belief in the convenience that God will surely give when needed. Pak Abdul's hope after the tower gets built is that the mosque's congregation will be more lively.
