Global warming can be defined as the increasing of the earth’s temperature. Our earth’s surface is becoming hot day by day. The rise of sea level is a major cause. Many island countries will finally end up losing their existence and will be washed away from the surface of the earth. Global warming is also a great threat to the flora and fauna of the earth. A large number of species may become extinct. The changes can’t be seen obviously enough these days, but they are expected to grow and speed up. In the next fifty or a hundred years from now, we can say that the earth may be hotter than it has been in the past million years.
As far as I know, the main thing that caused global warming is the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the earth’s surface. When the sun’s energy reaches the earth’s atmosphere, some of it is reflected back to the space and the rest is absorbed and re-radiated by greenhouse gases. Another thing caused global warming is human activities (burning fuels, agriculture, land clearing) which increase the concentration of greenhouse gases. Deforestation is also a fatal thing causes global warming. We all know that the forest is the lung of the world. If it happened already, then reforestation is a must. The other simple things like the use of hairspray, use of freon in air conditioner and refrigerator also impact.
While governments must take a very huge responsibility reducing climate change, we, as a young generation too can play a part. If it’s not started with us, then, who else? We need to be more concern to stop or at least to reduce the effects of global warming. So, what can we do? Planting more trees will help restore the imbalance that has happened because trees play a very significant role in the carbon cycle. Secondly, we must do this ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ policy. We can also control to minimize the air pollution by just walking if it still can be reached by foot instead of using transportations. I strongly agree, that eco-friendly technologies must be promoted and be substituted with those that cause great emission.
