A person that i would like to meet and have discussion with is Lee Iaccocca. Lee is the former president director of Chrysler and Ford Motor Company, two of the biggest automotive companies in the US. I put him on the top of the list because of two reasons: his resilence and extensive experiences in business management.
First, Lee started his tenure in Chrysler during the company's hardships, few days after he was being fired from the CEO position in Ford Motor Company. He had not only make a beautiful comeback to the industry by bringing Chrysler as the industry leader few years later, but also gave an excellent example of resilience. I could not recall better example of a business manager successfully bounced back so quickly and did not even experience post-power syndrome or depression, considering his last position, loyalty and contribution to the previous company.
Second, I learn a lot from Lee's autobiography about his experience in the school, universities and some first years of working career in automotive industry. He provides the framework of thinking and strategies to overcome obstacles that many young people face, as I do now. For example, he started his career as car sales manager as this is the basic requirement for anyone in the industry, eventhough his background was in engineering. He knew that sharpening his sales competencies is as important as other skills needed for a success. Although it was hard for him in the earliest stages, but he managed to learn from his seniors and practiced some strategies in order to climb his career ladder faster than anyone else in Ford Motor Company at that time. Learning from his experiences, I should be able to do better if I want to emulate his success in his career.
In conclusion, if i have a chance to meet someone so that i could learn from his experience, it would be Lee Iaccocca.
