Diversity is an absolute necessity, or in religious terms, known as sunatullah, which is a phenomenon or decree from the God that relates to the universe and is inherent innature.

This cultural and ethnic diversity requires humans to get to know and accept each other's differences so that harmonious relationships and coexistence can be created within society. Coexistence itself is a state of peaceful coexistence between different entities in society, whether in terms of culture, religion, ethnicity, tribe, or political view.

The tolerance activities in Junrejo Village, Batu City, are a concrete example of the tradition of moderation that has become an integral part of the community's life. These values of tolerance have been passed down from generation to generation by the village elders and continue to be upheld and preserved by the younger generations, thereby forming a strong identity and culture within the village. Moderation in Junrejo Village, Batu City is not only limited to the recognition of diversity, but is also manifested in real activities that involve all residents regardless of religious differences.

We conducted face-to-face interviews with the Head of Junrejo Village and a Buddhist leader at the Junrejo Sub-District Office, Batu City to gain more in-depth information about community life amid religious diversity in this village. The Head of Junrejo Village explained the various activities they carry out to preserve the traditions passed down by their elders so that they are not lost over time. Tolerance is one of the main pillars or foundations for maintaining harmony amid the diversity that exists in Junrejo Village, Batu City. These values of tolerance can be seen in various social and religious activities that are held together. One of the most obvious examples is the tradition during Eid al-Fitr celebrations. All residents of various religions other than Islam, such as Christianity, Buddhism, and others, go around the village to wish each other a happy holiday and strengthen their bonds of brotherhood. This tradition illustrates how religious moderation is practised and applied in community life by placing mutual respect and togetherness above differences in belief.

In addition, Pak Wo, a Buddhist leader in Junrejo Village, Batu City, also explained that the same thing happens during other religious celebrations. Young and old alike, regardless of age, when it comes to religious matters and community togetherness, the residents are united and harmonious in order to make these religious activities a success. Junrejo Village always strives to provide space and respect for every resident to worship according to their respective religions. This is a concrete manifestation of moderation in the daily lives of residents. This attitude of mutual respect and accommodation of religious needs is not just a temporary policy, but a culture that is preserved from generation to generation.

This atmosphere of harmony and tolerance has been created because the people of Junrejo Village have been accustomed to living together harmoniously for many years. They understand and truly appreciate the importance of moderation in religion, which allows them to respond to differences with openness and understanding. There are no significant conflicts arising from religious differences because of the openness and awareness of the residents regarding the importance of peaceful coexistence.

Furthermore, this village emphasises the importance of every individual's right to choose and practise their religion according to their beliefs without discrimination or pressure. This is even evident at the family level, where it is not uncommon to find family members of different religions, such as Islam, Christianity and Buddhism, living harmoniously together in one household. This shows that moderation and tolerance are not only found in the wider social sphere but are also embedded in personal and family life.

Overall, tolerance activities in Junrejo Village
reflect strong religious moderation values that are consistently applied. The tradition of mutual respect, togetherness, and appreciation for religious differences makes Junrejo Village an ideal example of maintaining religious harmony. Through inclusive joint activities and a continuously nurtured open attitude, this village is able to maintain social
harmony that brings peace and progress to all its residents.
