The Exposure Triangle, 3 Menu That We Forgot in Camera

Taking photo makes a memory for us, and in this digital era we can take every picture only with smartphone, the specification of smartphone nowadays will makes us think that it could change the function of camera professional itself.  Because the detail of every picture in smartphone camera that we take it good enough to use as commercial.

And did you know that in camera smartphone, there’re 3 features that important to make our photo good to use, even for just for memory or commercial use. Professional use to call it triangle exposure.

Now we breakdown this triangle exposure, there’s ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. This 3 things is important to take a picture if we want to take a good picture, this triangle exposure is having connection to make your camera see what you want to see and take what you want to take as a picture.

First thing first is ISO, ISO is number of what we see in camera, we used to see this number with range 100-1500 and so on depends on the specification of camera we use, the low you use number of ISO the less light that you get, and vice versa. We need to up the ISO when we’re in the dark place with low light and vice versa.

The second thing that we see is a Aperture, Aperture is number that we see from range f/32-f/1 someone called is as a diafragma, this is how the camera lens works the lower aperture we use the higher light that we get in camera because the lens open bigger and the other side when the higher aperture that we use the smaller light that we get because the smaller lens opened in camera.

The third and for the last one is shutter speed, this is how the lens of the camera close and open the lens, and capture the image in front of us, range of this shutter speed is  1/1000-1 the higher we use of shutter speed the less light we get but more detail we get, but the less number of shutter speed the more light we get but the image is also not detail.  

Knowing this for sure we’ll take the beautiful picture as we want, for example if you want to take a picture of moving car in highway with many light, we’ll use 1/5000 for shutter speed, its actually depends on how fast the vehicle that we see in front of us, in sports car we’ll use higher speed shutter, shutter speed will help us to freeze the car and make motion blur in around the car, and then we’ll adjust the ISO and aperture in low we set this because we see many light will capture in the camera, so we’ll set low number.

Now we know the other function of this menu in camera, we can take every picture now not in auto, but we can try another experiment with this triangle exposure.
