The importance of Literacy in society, especially related to hot news, the spread of hoax news sometimes makes the stigma of the public deviates from an issue. Literacy is a language skill possessed by a person in communicating, reading, speaking, listening, and writing in different ways according to their goals. (Elizabeth Sulby 1986).
 In this advanced era, all things can quickly and instantly spread, especially with news. Unfortunately,  Indonesian people are lack of literacy, so the existing news is immediately spread raw without further research, and even worse, not a few Indonesian people make malicious comments related to the news circulating, one of which is on the current humanitarian issue, namely the Rohingya news. In this case, the author will give reviews about the importance of literacy related to hoax news that is scattered using the view of Axiological Philosophy.
It is easy for news and videos to spread through viral applications such as tiktok and Instagram, triggering various kinds of public statements, not infrequently even Indonesian people give dirty and also unpleasant comments regarding this problem. One or two videos that are very viral is when some residents of rohingya are considered ungrateful because the food they get is lacking in rice, finally the video goes viral, and Indonesian netizens start to give various comments such as, "it's sad to see the behavior of the rohingya people, out there many of our people are who are beggars just to get a little rice, but refugees who have been given good food are not grateful," said one of the accounts on tiktok, and there are still many comments that feel that the people of rohingyah are stepping on the treatment of UNHCR and the government.
There is also news that said that, the government gave more than 1 million monthly funds for the rohingyah people, and it was also circulating that the UNHCR asked the people of rohingayah to make an ID card, and was given one island for them to stay. even though there are still many poor people in our country, then is the news true and according to the facts? It turns out that the news in question is not true, the funds obtained by the Rohingya community of 1.2 million every month are funds from IOM (International Organization Migration) which are intended for communities like this Rohingya. The problem with the viral news is that the UNHCR asked the Rohingya people to make an ID card and be given an island to stay, it is also a hoax news, where the tweet came from one of the fake accounts in the name of UNHCR in order to get public attention.
In fact,there have been a lot of Indonesians who have attacked UNHCR's social media accounts, as well as there have been many videos that have given massive criticism to the government. This is where literacy is in an effort to prevent unwanted movements. Through the Kemenko website, it is explained that the Indonesian government has made various efforts to improve the quality of public literacy, then whether this movement can ideally increase the level of reading and literature of our society in an axiological view. In the era of globalization like now, movements such as digital reading parks are considered quite ideal for our society, because everything is now difficult through cellphones, and various other types of technological media. Newspaper readers and also printed books have decreased over time.
The government's efforts and the Ministry of Public Security to improve public literacy are good, especially in the view of the axiology of this movement can have a big impact on the community and the younger generation. However, there needs to be a community contribution as well to achieve satisfactory results, there must be deeper introductions about how important literacy is for the community. The government can also make technology and social media one of the interesting learning media about literacy, because sometimes young people prefer to watch interesting videos rather than read. Therefore, it is also important to see technology opportunities to improve literacy. The Indonesian people must also be aware that it is not easy to absorb the information circulating on social media quickly, there needs to be research and search for the truth about the current news.
