Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect, not only that, this is also caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons(CFC), and other pollutants. Nowadays, global warming is increasingly harmful and bringing adverse effects on humans, animals, and the environments around us. This is the serious problem face to humans. if we are not aware of this problem, we can not predict whether our next generation can alive or not in this world.
There are so many factors that caused this problem. The issues of global warming were divided into 2 majors which are "natural" and "human influences" of global warming.
The first issue is the industrial revolution, since 1760 until now. Because of the industrial revolution, many manufacturers compete to find the newest technology but they are not considered with the environment. Industrial have been using fossil fuels for power machines. After that, the machines will be expelling the carbon dioxide (CO2) and the CO2 is releasing to the atmosphere. It makes the mass ozone will be decreasing. So, That's why our earth become hotter year by year. Start from 1950-2000 the carbon dioxide increased about 65%
The use of the chemical components also support world become worst, because the chemical components can make pollutant to the air, water, and ground. because of pollution in water, some sea animal gets the impact. about 86% of population sea turtle get ingestion, 36% of population seabird get ingestion too.
Next is the most common issue that is deforestation. Deforestation is a human influence because humans have been cutting down trees to produce papers, wood, build houses or more. Because of these actions, the animal will get lost their habitat and carbon dioxide will rise. Right now, the increase of deforestation reaches 70% in Bolivia. For Brazil, SE Asia, Congo Bassin are increasing rapidly. Using perfumes also make the ozone will be thining.
Another Factor, we can call "Natural Phenomenon". The global warming happens because the natural rotation of the sun that changes the intensity of sunlight and moving closer to the earth. the next point is about the volcanic eruption, this also gives big impact to the atmosphere. "If Great Mounts release large amounts of sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere, global temperatures will drop for several years," said Michael Mills, a researcher at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. "However, regional climate impacts and the impact on the seasons will be more complex," Mills added as quoted by Bloomberg. When Gunung Agung erupted (Indonesia, 1963), it will diminish temperature around 0,1 - 0,2 celsius.
After we know about "Natural" and "Non-Natural" factors, so what are the impacts that we get today. There are many extreme events related to this problem. Such as hurricanes, changing the climate, excessive flooding, Sea levels and ocean acidification (annual rise of 0.07 in. (1.6 mm) in the 20th century), Ice melting (decreasing 1960-2015), storms, lightning attack, drought, diseases, etc.
Because of these issues, many climate scientists predict what will happen in the future. Scientists have big probably if the temperature will increase. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which includes more than 1,300 scientists from the United States and other countries, forecasts a temperature rise of 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century.
Projections of future climate over the U.S. suggest that the recent trend towards increased heavy precipitation events will continue. More droughts and heat waves, Hurricanes will become stronger and more intense, Sea level will rise 1-4 feet by 2100, and the Arctic likely to become ice-free.
In conclusion, we are the young generation who live in the millennial era. we can prevent those effects before it will be happening. It is not too late to make the world become better. Â we must have awareness of our environment. If we can't start it with big influence, just do with small benefit action. Save our mother to save our generation.
