Implementation of the Student Management Information System (SIMKES) in Educational Institutions Muhammad Syifa'ur Rohim / Postgraduate Student (Master's Degree) at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Islamic Education Management (MPI) Program, Class IIIE.
The phenomenon of modern educational management shows that management effectiveness greatly depends on the integrated use of information technology. However, many educational institutions still face challenges in managing student data efficiently and accurately. Therefore, this paper discusses the concept, scope, utilization, and development model of the Student Management Information System (SIMKES) as a solution to improve educational quality.
First, the concept of SIMKES represents an integration between humans and technology designed to manage student data from admission to graduation. Its purpose is to create an orderly, efficient, and accountable learning process. The principles emphasize data accuracy, regulatory compliance, student development, and the promotion of learner independence.
Second, the scope and tasks of SIMKES include planning, admission, class placement, student development, documentation, and reporting up to graduation. Through new student admission programs, student council development, and administrative management, the system supports supervision, welfare, and continuous student development in a structured manner.
Third, the utilization of SIMKES enhances efficiency, communication, and student guidance. It simplifies data management, reporting, and decision-making while integrating information on attendance, finance, and school activities to improve the overall quality of educational services.
Fourth, the development model of SIMKES includes the New Student Admission Program (PSB) for easier data entry, web-based Student Admission Systems (PPDB) for administrative efficiency, and an integrated SIMKES system after PSB to digitally connect all student data and activities for improved educational management.
Overall, SIMKES functions as a comprehensive system that manages all student-related data and activities to enhance efficiency, communication, and decision-making within educational institutions through integrated, technology-based management.
