Bekasi, The bekasi government noted there were at least 7 submerged flood sites it cause heavy rain on sunday November 7, 2021. Waters level vary from 20 CM to as much as 60 CM high.

The areas affected by the flood yesterday were Bantargebang Village in Vida Housing (water level 50 cm), Mustikajaya Village in Mutiara Gading Timur Housing (50 cm), Mustikasari Village in Pondok Timur Indah Housing Center (40 cm), Pedurenan Village in East Bekasi Regency 3 Housing ( 30 cm), Bojong Rawalumbu Village in Bumi Bekasi Baru Housing (BBB) with a water level of 60 cm, Panjangjaya Village in North BBB Perum with a water level of 40 cm, Bojong Menteng Village in Perum BBB with a water level of 50 cm.

Much of the flooding in Bekasi has been caused by broken ledges in some residential blocks, and river water evaporated as a result of high and long intensity preciption or by water shipments from other areas.

In some areas, improvements in leasing already have been made in the early september to anticipate severe floods such as the early 2020, with nearly 70% of leasing services at the end of 2021 done. The primary kemang housing being the victims of the severe flooding earlier in 2020.

Other areas also became regular subscribers to  the annual flooding of Bekasi, such as the vila nusa indah, where is located under the river and was only cover by old dikes, and the bumi nasio indah with dike problem was never finished

Deputy Mayor of Bekasi, Tri Adhianto said that the flooding in Bekasi was due to the stagnant normalization in Bekasi River.  The stagnation of normalization has caused Bekasi River to be filled with mud because it was not dredged. "The Bekasi River, which has been for many years, has never been normalized or any activity has been carried out to improve the capacity of the river itself. So its performance is getting lower," said Tri while monitoring the JORR Toll underpass.
