There is no end when we talk about education. It is interesting and crucial topic. Usually, In Indonesia, when we talk about education, we talk about how we increase scores, making questions, digital learning, etc. I agree all of this topic is important. However, we tend to forget to educate emotions in our students. No wonder we find that students nowadays can't control emotions. Maybe, we, as educators, contribute problems in this situations.

Nowadays, Teacher in America starts to pay attention to this topic. We can see it from edutopia.org or another resourceful resources in education. In Indonesia, we already start to think about it. We can see it in curriculum especially in KI 2. We also put vocational virtues values in our unit plan. However, how we educate emotions of our children? How we educate our emotions? How Christians see and educate their emotions?

First, I need to talk about emotions briefly. According to Britannica, Emotion is a complex experience of consciousness, bodily sensation, and behavior that reflects the personal significance of a thing, events, or state of fair. The key word of this definition is experience. We feel something because of experience outside of us. It means our emotion happens because of experience in the present and past. 

We feel emotions daily. We and our students need to learn how to regulate the emotions. It is not only teacher duty to teach emotions but this is task of all school members. I encourage all of you to involve in this process.

So, how we teach our students to educate emotions? The key of it is experience. My point is teacher need to create or use daily situations in our students. When we create the situations, we need to make a routine about it. Our students need chances to exercise their emotion regulation. We can also take benefit from daily situations. We can observe or handle situations in school. From the situations, we can teach students how to regulate emotions in group working, sharing toys, etc. we teach them so they can control emotion.
