Introduction
Educational research from a managerial perspective is an important foundation for the development of educational institution management theory and practice. Through research, educational management is not only understood conceptually, but also tested in real contexts to produce objective, innovative, and evidence-based solutions. Its existence has a dual function, namely enriching scientific knowledge and supporting accountable decision-making. In addition, research is closely related to other studies such as evaluation, literature review, and case studies, which, although they do not always produce new knowledge, still support managerial analysis and reflection. Thus, research is a major pillar for quality improvement, policy legitimacy, and the sustainability of knowledge in educational management.
First: The Meaning and Essence of Educational Management Research
Educational management research is a systematic, logical, and empirical scientific activity aimed at developing knowledge, with the dual function of building theory and improving institutional management practices. Unlike ordinary observation, which is spontaneous and subjective, research is planned, theory-based, uses standardized instruments, and produces valid and accountable analysis. In addition, research plays an important role as a basis for decision making by providing accurate data to identify problems, formulate solutions, legitimize evidence-based policies, and support continuous evaluation for the improvement of adaptive and accountable education quality.
Second: The Function of Educational Management Research
The function of research in educational management covers theoretical, practical, policy, and academic aspects. Theoretically, research enriches the body of knowledge by developing new concepts and theories, while practically, research solves real problems in educational management. From a policy perspective, research forms the basis of evidence-based policy, which helps with planning and decision-making to be more targeted and accountable. In addition, research also has an academic function as a requirement for writing theses or dissertations, which trains students' scientific skills while enriching the literature and strengthening academic traditions in the world of education.
Natizah
Research in educational management is a key pillar of scientific and practical development because it is scientific, systematic, and accountable. The function of research is not only to enrich theory but also to solve practical problems, inform evidence-based policy, and foster academic traditions. Its strengths lie in its objectivity, support for innovation, and replicability, which ensure the sustainability of science. Although there are other studies similar to research, research remains the most important foundation in building adaptive, accountable, and sustainable education quality.
