ISLAMIC EDUCATION MANAGEMENT REFORM AND INNOVATION WITH AN INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

By Jelita Citra Pertiwi/1222010087 / Student of Class VI C / S1 Department of Islamic Education Management UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung

First, reform and innovation in international Islamic education are responses to the needs of the times. Changes in the global education system aim to adapt to evolving social, economic and political values. Figures such as Dewey and Montessori inspired systemic and humanistic approaches in education. In developed countries such as America, reforms face major challenges such as racial segregation, economic inequality and early access to education.

Second, in Indonesia, education reform requires a long and comprehensive strategy. A reality-based approach is needed, not just jargon. The Indonesian government has responded to this challenge through various policies such as the National Education Law and increasing the education budget. However, implementation remains a challenge that must be resolved gradually.

Third, Islamic religious education reform is an important part of this change. Not only curriculum changes, but also systemic approaches from learning experiences to legislative arrangements. The bottom-up approach is considered more effective because it encourages active community participation in the learning process.

Fourth, the concept of Merdeka Belajar is a concrete form of current education reform. Teachers and students are given the freedom to innovate, learn according to their interests, and achieve educational goals in a fun way. Policies such as the abolition of the UN, minimum competency assessment, and curriculum adjustment mark the new direction of Indonesian education. Especially in Islamic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti, the Merdeka curriculum emphasizes strengthening spirituality, noble character, and critical thinking and tolerance.

All of these changes are important foundations for the formation of a superior generation that is ready to compete globally, without leaving the roots of strong Islamic values.
