First, Islamic education management does not only focus on basic aspects such as staffing, students, curriculum, and infrastructure. In its development, an enhancement component is also needed so that Islamic education institutions can compete and remain relevant in the midst of the dynamics of the times. These enhancement components include management of the educational environment, quality services, institutional change, conflict, and communication. This fifth aspect serves as a reinforcement of the quality, value and sustainability of Islamic education institutions. The educational environment plays an important role in shaping a conducive and Islamic learning atmosphere. The environment includes physical and non-physical factors, such as religious values, community customs, and technology that support the educational process. Madrasahs or pesantren that are able to build synergies with the surrounding community will gain great trust and support. This is where communication strategies and community involvement become vital.
Second, educational services are also a measure of the success of an institution. Good educational services reflect the professionalism and seriousness of the institution in providing the best learning experience for students. The application of the Total Quality Service concept emphasizes the importance of customer focus, involvement of all parties, and continuous improvement.
Third, change management is an unavoidable necessity. Social, technological and policy changes require Islamic educational institutions to continue to adapt without losing their Islamic identity. In this case, institutional leaders need to understand the theories of change and be able to manage transformation with a wise approach.
Fourth, no less important is the ability to manage conflict. In an educational process that involves many parties and dynamics, conflicts will inevitably arise. However, conflict is not something to be feared, but managed in the right way so as not to interfere with the learning process and educational goals. Communication is the binder between all elements of education. Effective communication will create a common understanding, facilitate coordination, and prevent misunderstandings. In Islamic education, communication is not only technical, but also moral and ethical.
From these five components, it can be concluded that quality Islamic education is not only seen from the content of the curriculum and the teachers who teach, but also from how the institution manages the environment, service quality, change, conflict and communication. All of these form a solid foundation for an Islamic education institution that is superior, humanist, and firmly embedded in Islamic values.
