According to CNN Indonesia, the covid-19 positive cases have reach to 930 cases per day in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/6). Positive cases began to increase since a few days ago. However, not until thousands of new cases in a day. The Ministry of Health believes the increase in cases will not be as high as before. The increase amount of positive cases is happening because the lack of diciplint in the society regarding the health protocol for covid-19.
Nevertheless, the Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat (PPKM) or Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities has been lower to level one by the government. This is also one of the reason that positive cases were increasing, but The Minister of Health Mr. Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that an evaluation of the people's immunity will be held on july to consider the levels of the PPKM.
The results will be used as a basis for the government to formulate new policies to deal with the pandemic after the commemoration of Indonesia's independence on August 17, 2022. "It is hoped that in the third or fourth week of July the results will come out. So that before 17 August Independence Day we can take more precise data-based policies regarding how to handle the pandemic in the future," said Budi.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) considered that the transmission of the corona virus in Indonesia was still under control after the Eid al-Fitr holiday or Lebaran 2022. Jokowi referred to the evaluation of Covid-19 data, in which Indonesia's positivity rate was still below 5 percent.
