Music is something that we very often encounter from long ago until now. Music continues to evolve over time. In music education, of course, it will not be separated from the technology that helps.
The technology contained in the art of music can be felt as in the movie "School of Rock". In this film, there is a rock musician who disguises himself as a teacher at an elementary school who then teaches students there to play songs of famous rock bands. This rock musician named Dewey Finn, he is a former member of a rock band who was desperate for money.Â
Then, he disguised himself as a teacher which should have been his friend's job. In this school, he tried to make a band with his students to participate in competitions. While they were practicing, the musical instruments used in this band helped Dewey teach rock songs, such as the use of electric guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums.Â
Apart from musical instruments, there are several instruments that they have prepared as well. For example, the computer they used to operate the spotlights during a concert. Then, when they did security the situation from the school principal so as not to be caught. In this case they use CCTV cameras to monitor conditions in the classroom hallway.Â
They are only elementary school children, but they can do everything with today's technology. Even though, they didn't win, but they put on a really great and extraordinary musical performance.
Here it can be seen that technology helps teaching in the art of music. At first, these kids didn't know rock music. After being introduced to how to play rock music and what is needed for a concert, they immediately understand and can master it. The tools they use are a form of practical learning that can increase children's creativity.
