Eboni trees line the newly cemented road in Sakita Village, Morowali---standing as living witnesses to the hard work of TNI soldiers in the 123rd TMMD by Kodim 1311/Morowali.
As the afternoon sun slowly leaned westward, its warmth tried to dry the sweat. The wind stirred gently, swaying branches and rustling leaves.
And I, Lieutenant Colonel Alzaki, Commander of the 123rd TMMD Task Force in Morowali, stood in awe as I witnessed the scene.
"Alhamdulillah... What was once a narrow-rugged path, only accessible by motorcycle, is now a smooth, 800-meter cemented road. And across the river, a 25-meter bridge now stands strong and steady."
In the past, villagers and schoolchildren had to cross strong river currents while clinging to a rope. Today, they walk across with steady steps.
"Now, the people can transport their harvest---nutmeg, cloves, and other agricultural products---using four-wheeled vehicles," I whispered, almost inaudibly, silently praying that this access would continue to be extended for the benefit of the community.
