In the era of globalization, Islamic education faces challenges to remain relevant and competitive internationally. Islamic education innovation management is needed to respond to the ongoing changes and global dynamics. The purpose of this paper is to identify and evaluate the concept of innovation management in Islamic education at the international level, as well as to provide an overview of its strategic implementation to improve the quality and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions on the global stage. This phenomenon is important to ensure that Islamic education remains adaptive and contextual in facing the challenges of the modern world.
First, the Basic Concept of Islamic Religious Education Innovation Innovation in Islamic religious education is an effort to renew the teaching process aimed at increasing effectiveness and efficiency. Innovation can take the form of ideas, practices, or objects considered new, both at the level of educational institutions and nationally. Innovation emerges as a response to educational challenges and aims to create creative and original solutions. The management of Islamic religious education innovation includes planning, organizing, mobilizing, and supervising resources to achieve educational goals. This innovation is essential to ensure that Islamic religious education remains relevant and adaptive in facing global changes.
Second, Islamic Religious Education Innovation Model The Islamic religious education innovation model involves a series of activities from the introduction of innovation to its implementation. There are four main stages in this model: Invention, which is creating a new idea or adapting an existing one; Development, which expands the idea to a larger scale through research; Diffusion, which is the distribution of ideas to users; and Adoption, which is the acceptance and use of innovation by the relevant parties. This model ensures that innovation can be applied effectively in the context of Islamic religious education.
Third, Strategies for the Development of Islamic Religious Education Innovation Strategies for the development of Islamic religious education innovation include three main approaches: power coercive strategy, rational empirical strategy, and normative re-educative strategy. The power coercive strategy uses authoritative force to implement innovation without active participation. The rational empirical strategy is based on logical thinking and demonstrating tangible benefits. Meanwhile, the normative re-educative strategy prioritizes understanding and continuous learning to achieve desired changes in attitudes and values.
Fourth, Process and Procedure of Islamic Religious Education Innovation The process of Islamic religious education innovation consists of five stages: knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. The knowledge stage involves becoming aware of innovation and understanding its function. The persuasion stage shapes supportive or opposing attitudes toward innovation. The decision stage marks the acceptance or rejection of innovation. Implementation takes place when the innovation is put into actual practice. Finally, the confirmation stage strengthens the decision already made and reconsiders it if new, conflicting information emerges.
After reading the above material, we can conclude it into four points: 1) Innovation is a renewal in learning to increase effectiveness, and it can take the form of new ideas, practices, or objects that are relevant and adaptive; 2) Innovation stages include: Invention, Development, Diffusion, and Adoption; 3) Strategies for the Development of Islamic Religious Education Innovation: Coercion (Power Coercive), Rational Empirical, Repetitive Education (Normative Re-educative); 4) Stages: Knowledge, Persuasion, Decision, Implementation, Confirmation. This innovation aims to maintain the relevance of Islamic religious education in facing global challenges.
