The number of television entertainment programs currently airing on local television, many of which do not pay attention to the benefits and negative impacts of these programs. Like in a prank program, which in nature makes other people surprised and confused by the actions of the team without the victim's knowledge. So that later the victim hopes that it will give a funny and surprising response so that it becomes interesting content and has selling power. So, if analyzed using the cognitivism method which objectively assesses the programs broadcasting on television today, it is not concerned with the needs of society but on the contrary, that is, only for personal gain.
In language, prank means a trick, which according to the name, the content raised is a hoax. It's just that the purpose of this trick is not to drain the money or valuables that are being carried. However, not a few of these prank events made victims feel embarrassed. Jokes with the basic word joke according to the Big Indonesian Dictionary are jokes; joke. Almost all ethnic groups in Indonesia have a culture of joking. Its purpose is to make the mood happy or to make the atmosphere fluid and warm. So that if traced from its meaning, joking in a positive sense means making the atmosphere liquid and warm. The parties who joke and hear become happy.
This prank program which should not be broadcast on television, objectively justivating the prank program has violated the broadcasting code of ethics due to defamation of the victim.
