Young Profesional (YP) Inspiring session this month is very special. Because, besides it held in special month Ramadhan, it also presented by special speaker. Took place in Talavera office park 22nd floor at Shell Indonesia office, the session with Title "Career development vs Personal development" SPE YP invited Pak Ahmad Yuniarto or familiarly called Pak AY, a former chairman of Schlumberger and now focusing on people based community empowerment as a speaker. For almost three hours, Pak AY delivered a beautiful and interesting session to bright up a gloomy evening.
Pak AY begins the session with a brief introduction, after that he asked the audience to give some questions. Julianta from Conocophillips asked the first question. He asks pak AY, how to make personal goals and career goals in line and how to reach that? Pak AY responded with a long explanation in career and personal goals, he also told a step that needs to be taken to achieve that. Pak AY also mentioned about generalist and specialist which responded by one of the audience, Abdurachman from HCML. He asked how we know our potential and after that directing our career to that path? To answer this question, pak AY invited bu Antiek from Weatherford Indonesia to come forward. Bu Antiek explained the difference in career path; she also gives some example based on her experience about career path development. Bu Antiek mentioned that, each person has to define their career path before deciding which action should be taken to reach that. Career path is depending on our will, after that we have to work hard to achieve that.
After breakfasting together which sponsored by Shell and Maghrib pray, Â pak AY shared his life experience when he worked at Schlumberger, when he actively participated in community and even his experience with UN to build UN Sustainable Development Goals. One of the audiences, Sylvan from PHE WMO, interested in pak AY involvement in UN. He asked about the future of oil and gas industry and industry bond with university. Pak AY told that we don't have to worry about the future of the industry, what we need is to change our paradigm. We have to see the industry wider, not limited to oil and gas only. There are many opportunities in this industry, EOR, Unconventional resources, Geothermal and many more. We have to keep optimistic and develop ourselves to be ready when the opportunity arrived. Pak AY answers triggered a response from Pak Amin, Chairman of SPE Java. Pak Amin told that, now he is involving in government target to increase electricity capacity up to 35,000 MW. He told that this project will require many expertise's and now, it hard to find. So the opportunity is there, we just need to prepare.
At the end of the session, one of passionate audience, Reizky from Roadshill raised his hand. He told that he wants to express his heart. He began with his background and continue with his question, "with current condition of the industry, what should we do?, do we need to find opportunities outside oil and gas industry to survive?",  Pak AY replied with a question "How do you feel by attending this session?"  Reizky answered "relief", other audience replied "to move some burden of  my shoulders", and others replied "Open my mind." The pak AY sums up, we need more event like this, where we can share our experiences, talk and gain networking, but don't forget to share among others also. If we see the current condition like this, imagine how students in the university see that. It would be hopeless image they saw.  Let's share to motivate them." We need sponsor to succeed and the ultimate sponsor is GOD" ,pak AY continue "believe me, if we help others, GOD will help us because HE is never sleeps or in Javanese language 'Gusti Allah Mboten Sare', We just have to believe and do the best with what GOD gave us" He closed his statement.
After closing, all attendants take a photo together. Many attendances expresses his gratefulness coming to this event, they can gain knowledge, inspiration and also network. They also hope that this event could be held more often. Looks like, this event is success to inspire the audience, in line with its name "YP Inspiring Session"
