Event though cigarette packs warn “smoking kills you”, the number of smokers keeps rising every year.             Another reason why smoking is not good for collage students it's because smoking among college students actually has a serious impact on their health in the future. This thesis is important because it can be said that most college students do not fully realize the risks and negative effects caused by the smoking habit. Even students who smoke tend to underestimate the short-term negative effects of smoking. According to Levinson et al (2007) it shows that most college students who smoke being smokers, because they believe that they only smoke socially and it will not make them addicted. This research can show that the beliefs between students who smoke and those who do not smoke tend are very different, because non-smoker students usually tend to speculate that smoking is not good for health. Meanwhile, students who smoke believe that they only smoke socially, and it will not make them addicted.

In addition to harming physical health and academic performance, smoking also effects mental health, many studens start smoking as their way to relieve from stress, anciety or Assignment and Exam preasure. However research showed the opposite side of smoking. According to research conducted by Habib et al (2024) smoking among collage students is strongly associated with higher level of psychological distress including mood disturbances, difficulty concentrating, and increase anciety. The study emphasizes that instead of reducing stress, smoking actually does the opposite, making the students feel more stress and cause addiction.

In conclusion, smoking cigarretes is clearly not good for collage students because it bring harmful effects in many aspect of their lives. Cigarretes demage health, drain finances, and even disturb social relationship between students. Many collage students understimate the risk of smoking even though it can cause serious health problem. Lastly, instead of reducing stress, smoking actually causes students to become more stressed and addicted
