First, research is an important foundation in the development of science and the basis for decision-making in education management. Through research, various issues related to the management of educational institutions can be identified and analyzed systematically. Educational management research focuses on issues of institutional management, such as leadership, learning quality, and human resource management. More than just building theory, research in this field has a dual role: in addition to enriching knowledge, research also serves to improve management practices in a direct and applicable manner, thereby providing real solutions to the problems faced by educational institutions.

Second, the main function of research is to generate new knowledge, solve problems, and support the development of better theories and decision-making. Research plays a fundamental role because it provides a scientific basis for the development of effective and efficient educational management practices. This function encompasses various dimensions, such as theoretical dimensions that develop new concepts, practical dimensions that are directly applied in the field, policy dimensions that support data- and evidence-based decision-making, and academic dimensions that improve the quality of scholarship in the field of educational management. All of these dimensions complement each other and reinforce the position of research as a key tool in improving the quality of education.

Third, research has a number of fundamental advantages; among them, it produces measurable empirical data that leads to objective findings that are scientifically accountable. This data supports rational and evidence-based decision-making, rather than decisions based solely on assumptions or subjective experiences. Another advantage of research is its ability to contribute to innovation and policy development that is relevant and adaptive to real-world situations. Thus, research results become the foundation for developing more targeted strategies and policies, as well as improving the quality of education management in a sustainable manner.


Fourth, in addition to research, there are other studies with similar characteristics but with different objectives and methodologies. For example, evaluation studies focus more on measuring the achievement of predetermined objectives in order to assess the effectiveness of programs or policies. Meanwhile, literature reviews play a role in developing a comprehensive framework based on analysis of relevant literature and theories. Although they differ in terms of objectives and methods, these studies complement each other and support the development of knowledge and educational management practices with different but harmonious approaches.

Educational management research plays a very important role in improving the quality of education by generating new knowledge, solving complex problems, and supporting the development of theories and evidence-based and objective decision-making. Thus, research can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of educational institution management and provide innovative solutions to improve the overall quality of education.
