Governments have been responsible for environmental problem. Should companies and private individuals be made to pay costs for pollution? To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is no doubt that the environment is in trouble. Factories burn fuels which produce pollution, while the number of cars is increasing, they pump out the poisonous gases which we all have to breathe in. all those things are destroyed our balanced ecosystem. For that reason, governments have been taking part in preserving the environment. In my view, it is not only government’s responsibility but also everyone. There are much more we can do rather than giving money to fund the conservation.
The main reason why I do not agree with the statement is, that by giving money once after they contribute to make pollution, is not solving the problem. In other time, they will do the same mistake and repay for it. Moreover, this action does not teach them to be more conscious to protect our environment, so that they will continue to destroy the ecosystem regardless the money they spent.
The other reason of this problem is, that there are lots of things we can do to help prevent destruction. The easiest thing for individual person, of course, that we should buy cars which uses unleaded patrol that is less harmful to the environment, or, even better, make more use of public transport. Another thing for companies, could be like produce their product which are packaged in biodegradable packaging which decomposes easily, or produce product which is easily to be recycled.
To sump up, we as human, have inherited the earth, but that does not mean we can do whatever we like with it. We all have responsibility to preserve our environment and prevent from destruction. We can not all commit to do all the suggested things. However, we can at least do our own little bit at grass root level.
