Movie 'Next Gen' (2018), in this movie tells the life of Mai, a teenage girl who lives with her mother. His life changed after his father left them and the appearance of a helper robot who stole the attention and affection of Mai's mother so that Mai's relationship with her mother became not too close.
This film shows the future world that is already filled with sophisticated technology and robots. The technology in this film means that everything or work that was once done by humans is now being replaced by robots. For example security robots, cleaning robots, traffic robots, post box robots, even combing robots and toothbrush robots.
Besides that, the sophistication of the technology can be seen from the advertisement which are usually attached to banners, which have changed into the form of a projector screen, and letters no longer use writing but use a projector screen and audio.
Doors that use face detectors, cell phones using a projector screen no longer use a normal display screen and foods such as cup noodles which when cooked will be able to talk and even sing. Cars no longer need wheels to run and no longer require human power to drive because the car will be directly controlled by the technology inside.
But in this film, it is more focused on how the helper robot can do everything its owner needs, such as showing television broadcasts, massaging, dancing, doing magic tricks, even behaving like humans, but still does not have a feelings like a human.
This movie also teaches how technology will develop along with existing education. A professor who creates assistant robots certainly never gives up in developing old robots and learns from past mistakes. Good education is also needed so that knowledge to develop existing technology becomes easier.
Better education and knowledge will help learners to create advanced technology. Not only sophisticated, but also useful for people who use it. From the movie, there are several things we can take as lessons that no matter how sophisticated the technology is, nothing can beat love in the family. Even technology that is too good does not necessarily have a good impact either. We must be able to sort out whether the technology is helping or harming us.
Mai, who initially hated robots because they had stolen the attention of her mother, began to accept the existence of robots after she got to know a robot that was different from other robots. where the robot always accepts Mai as she is and considers Mai valuable so that she doesn't want to erase Mai's memories and chooses to delete the main system which could lead to losing control of the removed main system.
