Contemporary Islamic education is required to adapt to global changes. Therefore, development management policies for educational institutions must be directed toward expanding international insight in alignment with the dynamics of the times and the needs of the ummah.
This essay aims to briefly and systematically outline various aspects of management policy in the development of Islamic educational institutions with an international outlook. Through four main discussion points---school management tasks, leadership and policy, operations, and institutional development---it is hoped that readers will gain an understanding of the strategic direction needed to realize globally competitive Islamic educational institutions.
First: The Future Outlook of School Management Tasks; School management in the future should not be limited to administrative duties, but rather embrace a dynamic strategy that adjusts to the currents of globalization. The primary task of management is to prepare an educational system capable of competing globally while remaining grounded in Islamic values. Educational managers must be adaptive to change, proactive in innovation, and focused on achieving long-term educational quality.
Second: Leadership and School Policy with an International Perspective; Leadership in a global context requires a strategic vision and cross-cultural collaborative skills. School principals and educational managers must become transformational figures capable of integrating local curricula with international standards. School policies should emphasize professionalism, data-driven decision-making, and community empowerment to achieve global quality.
Third: Operations of International Schools; International school operations require standardized yet flexible policies. This includes curriculum governance, globally standardized teacher training, and the utilization of educational technology. Every operational policy must ensure effective learning, management accountability, and openness to best practices from global institutions.
Fourth: Policies for Developing Internationally Oriented Schools; The development of international schools should not be limited to physical infrastructure, but also include the strengthening of human resources and a strong academic culture. Policies must include teacher capacity-building programs, international partnerships, and continuous evaluation systems. A Total Quality Management (TQM) approach is highly relevant to ensure the sustainability of innovation within educational institutions.
Management policies for Islamic educational institutions should be aimed at strengthening international perspectives rooted in Islamic values. The future task of educational managers is to become agents of transformation, global leaders, and strategic innovators capable of elevating the status of Islamic education on the world stage.
