The management of Islamic education does not solely focus on the teaching and learning process but also involves managing the environment, services, change, and conflict. These four components serve as complements to ensure Islamic education runs effectively, efficiently, and sustainably in accordance with Islamic values and global demands.
This essay aims to concisely explain the essence, roles, strategies, and implementation of the four complementary aspects of international Islamic education management, namely educational environment, special services, change, and conflict, in order to create quality Islamic education management.
First: Management of the Islamic Education Environment;Â Islamic education environment management emphasizes the importance of Islamic characteristics in an atmosphere that supports the implementation of Islamic education. The surrounding community also functions as an educational center, as Islamic values are formed and developed there. Strategies to build public trust in Islamic educational institutions can be carried out through real achievements, both academic and non-academic, that are publicly showcased.
Second: Management of Special Services in Islamic Education;Â Special services management in Islamic education relates to the quality of services in terms of products, people, processes, and the environment. The concept of Total Quality Service is applied with a focus on customer satisfaction, the involvement of all educators, quality measurement, and continuous improvement. Islamic educational institutions must be able to provide professional services aligned with Islamic values.
Third: Management of Change in Islamic Education;Â Change management in Islamic education is crucial, as change is inevitable. The aim is for educational institutions to be able to survive in both the short and long term. Kurt Lewin's change theory (unfreezing, changing, refreezing) illustrates the importance of preparation, implementation, and reinforcement of change. Stages such as decide, prepare, launch, expand, and sustain form a strategic framework in change management.
Fourth: Conflict Management in Islamic Education;Â Conflicts in Islamic educational institutions are unavoidable. Conflict management is needed to ensure that differences of opinion whether between individuals or groups do not become obstacles. Types of conflict include interpersonal, intergroup, intragroup, intra-organizational, and inter-organizational conflict. The main cause of conflict is usually differing viewpoints that each party believes to be correct, causing tension within the institution.
In conclusion, management of the environment, services, change, and conflict are essential aspects that complement the international Islamic education system. Effective management of these components will help create adaptive, high quality Islamic education aligned with contemporary demands while maintaining its Islamic identity.
