Earth is a strange rock. amidst a vast amount of rocks in the whole universe, earth is the strangest rock ever known so far. it is so strange because it is the only rock that supports life.
The tiny blue line that covers the earth enables all living things on it to be able to breathe and so to live. without the oxygen which the unique gas that only earth could produce, it would be impossible to have such creatures we have known so far. and what more surprising, that the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere is so precise for so long: 20,95%. without that precise amount we might have extinct long time ago, because less oxygen will choke us, and too much oxygen will trigger fires and burn our strange rock.
There so many wonders we haven't realized that are still going on in our lovely rock. we are accustomed to take for granted for every single wonder the earth provides for us. we might never think that if one little thing is out of order, we would be just history that no one would remember.
It is hard to think that this strange rock could be this way by itself. how come a rock could support live if there's no intelligent being that organizes everything to be in order? and that intelligent being must not be an ordinary being just like us human. we call it intelligent being in an analogy, in equivocal terms. its intelligent and its being are so different to our beings and to our intelligent. it is impossible to comprehend it since it is beyond of our thinking capacity.
For us the people of faith we call that intelligent being with names: God, Tuhan, Allah, Yahweh, etc. we gave it names just for the matter of recognition. it actually has no name, and it actually has all the names. "I am who I am"
Starting to realize the wonders of earth and the wonders of life should bring us to be more in intimate relationship with God. only those who lives in constant ignorance would deny God. the more we realize our whole being the more we would believe in God. Thinking of our existence in this strange rock should lead us then to thanking the One who made everything possible.Â
