Jakarta - Ridwan Kamil's first child, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, was declared dead by his family on Friday (3/6). Before the family stated this, the search for Eril had been carried out for approximately seven days on the Aare River, Bern, Switzerland.
Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz or often called Eril, has been missing since Thursday (26/5/2022). The chronology of Eril's disappearance is that he is in Switzerland with his family and friends looking for a master's school. In the midst of this busy life, Eril, his friends and family enjoy the clear Aare River by doing swimming activities. However, suddenly there was a disaster that befell Eril, he was swept away by the current while swimming. "At the time of going up there were difficulties, which we also didn't understand the conditions there, maybe there was a current. Others can go ashore, Eril is carried away by the current," said Ridwan Kamil's family, Elpi Nazmuzaman in a virtual press conference, Friday (27/5/2022).
It is known that Eril is good at swimming and has diving skills. Therefore, Eril should have been able to save himself when he was carried away. Eril's father, Ridwan Kamil, suspected that Eril had leg cramps before being carried away by the current of the Aare River.
After the news of the disappearance of Ridwan Kamil's eldest son, the Indonesian Embassy in Bern, Switzerland stated that the search for Eril would still continue using ground patrols, drones, and boats. Three days have passed, Eril's status from missing person changed to drowning person status. Interpol has issued a Yellow Notice regarding the case of Eril's disappearance. Until now Eril has not been found, and has been declared dead by the family.
The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, wrote a touching message for the Aare River in Bern, Switzerland. It was in the river that his eldest son was last seen before vanishing into the current. “O River Aare. As a fellow creature of Allah SWT, I entrust our child's body to you," he wrote through Ridwan Kamil's Instagram social media @ridwankamil.
