Last year, I tried to make a fan fiction on a Wattpad, the platform that is very popular to this day. I feel enjoy when making the stories, but it must stop because I have to focus on my studies. Until now, I still keep the story in my draft and hope that someday if I have free time, I will continue the story and my story can be attracted by many people.
Writing according to many students is quite boring, but for students who have good skills and passion it is an entertainment and can be a source of income. This is the effect of good writing skills on a student's future career there are.
Stories that we made can be liked by many readers, stories that we made can be adapted into a novel, and last the novel can be adapted into a film or drama.
The first effect of good writing skills is. We can post our stories on Wattpad and the stories are liked by many readers. With good writing skills the readers will more easily understand the story line. In addition, the reader will enjoy and liked the stories. Since, the stories are interesting, readers will share the stories with their friends. Therefore, the interest of the stories will increase and the stories that we make can be transformed into paid stories.
The second effect of good writing skills is, the story that we make will be adapted into a novel. With the increasing number of readers, it will attract the interest of publishers to publish our stories into a novel.
However, this is certainly not easy, because the Wattpad story and novel are certainly very different. We have to make our story more complex if we want it become a novel. Besides that, it takes even better skills so that the story we make can be published into a novel. It might be a little stressful for us but, but that is the challenge of a reliable writer.
The last effect is, when the novel that we make has exceeded the target and become a best seller, there is a possibility that the novel will be adapted into a film. At this time a lot of directors who make films are adapted from a novel such as the irregulars of the rainbow, human earth, paper boats and so forth.
These films are adapted from novels that are very well known and even best sellers. Surely this can be a new opportunity for a writer. Usually the director will contact the author to seek approval to adapt the novel into a film. After negotiating and reaching an agreement the film will be produced.
There are three effects of good writing skills. Being a writer is not easy, but if we have passion and good skills in writing we can certainly do it. For some students writing might just be a hobby. However, writing can also be an income field as well, especially for students. Therefore, we have to increase our ability to write again. So, being a novel writer can be our part-time job.
