A Quite Place directed by John Krasinski is a tense and horror-thriller film. This film is the first step of John Krasinski in directing horror-thriller. The screenplay is written by John Krasinski, Bryan Woods, and Scott Beck. A Quite Place premiered on March 9, 2018 and it was released on April 6, 2018 by Paramount Pictures. It became a major box office hit, grossing over $340 million worldwide.

The casts are John Krasinski as Lee Abbott, Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott, Millicent Simmonds as Regan Abbott, and Noah Jupe as Marcus Abbott. This film is about a family struggles to survive in a post-apocalyptic world and fight against blind creatures that have an acute sense of hearing (monsters). There is no jumpscares or ghost in this horror-thriller film but the tension and the thrills are genuinely great.

A Quite Place has simple premise, it is about a family that have to stay silent as they strive to stay alive, in the beginning of the story we don’t get a back story why the family have to stay silent but after 5 minutes watching the film it comes up with an unexpected scene as the result when they make a noise. The plot is absolutely thrilling. The good aspect of the film is not only about how the horror nuance built up but also the dynamics between the family is well done. The dynamic of parents want to protect their children and the love of family is on full display as well. The film gets really emotional at the end.

The Chemistry between Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) and Lee Abbott (John Krasinski) as mother and father is awesome because they are married with children in the real life and this might explain their chemistry and behaviours as mother and father in the film.

The acting of the actor and actress are great, they can make all the emotions from the characters really noticeable even without talking they can make the goosebumbs have a goosebumbs.

The cinematography is great, every scene when the monster comes up added to the tense feeling, I found many shots are well shot and the scenery can make you feel what they are going through.

In the film, sounds and music played important role in making the nuance especially in the horror film but in this film making sound is the key element of the story. Different with other films, A Quite Place built up the nuance by the acting of the actor and actress and not depend on the sound.

A Quite Place is a really good film to watch, even though you might be confused about the beginning of the film but as time goes on it gets better and you will not be disappointed. Fans of horror-thriller will no doubt be thrilled with this. I highly recommend it. The film is well worth seeing!
