INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC EDUCATION MANAGEMENT APPROACH

Islamic education at the international level faces increasingly complex challenges in the era of globalization. Various approaches in the management of international Islamic education have been developed to create an ideal education system. However, in reality, many Islamic educational institutions still experience a gap between theory and practice. The approach in Islamic education management has a wide scope and plays an important role in the planning and implementation of education. The education management approach aims to achieve goals through predetermined actions. A literature study by Endah Winarti in her journal shows that the approaches that are developing in Islamic education management include operational, behavioral, systemic, and quantitative approaches.
First, the operational approach is intended for production-oriented management areas aimed at improving efficiency, cutting out non-essential things (waste), as well as improving quality. The operational approach was first popularized by Frederick W. Taylor who emphasized the importance of experimentation in developing scientific management movements in four industrial areas: standardization, Studying time and tasks, Conducting systematic selection and training. In standardization, data related to the optimal cutting tool and the amount of stock needed. Time and task studies conducted revealed that workers used the same shovel for different materials.
Second, the approach to human behavior in management is developing gradually, emphasizing that humans are the main focus in the organization. Successful management depends on understanding and working together with individuals who have different backgrounds, needs, perceptions, and aspirations. Hawthorne's study, beginning in 1924 at Western Electric, found that productivity was influenced more by workers' attitudes and social relationships than by the physical conditions of work.
Third, the systems approach and the quantitative approach in management have an important role in understanding and managing the organization. Systems see the organization as a collection of parts that interact to achieve a common goal, by thinking synthetically rather than analytically. Quantitative approaches have limitations in understanding human behavior and flexibility in decision-making, as they often require less realistic assumptions and difficulty in determining patterns of interaction between variables in complex systems.
The management of Islamic education at the international level faces various challenges, To overcome these challenges, various approaches in the management of Islamic education have been developed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the education system. This approach includes an operational approach, a behavioral approach, as well as a systems and quantitative approach.
