Every children in the world loves ice cream, well almost not all. What brand comes up in your mind when watching an ice cream ad? Mine is Wall's Paddle Pop. I belive every children around the year of 2000s grew up by watching the television ads of this ice cream series. This was one of my favourite ads on the television at that time. With various ads about promoting their ice cream series, and also with the story plots that were interesting to follow, like the clip above.
Basically the ads were about animals characters, which the main character is Paddle Pop, a lion where he is a king of Magilica (the name of the place) that loves to go on any kinds of adventures, with his friends Liona (a female lion), Spike (a hedgehog), Twitch (a chameleon) and Proffesor Higgabottom (an owl). There's also a villain which is called Shadow Master, well he is basically a shadow with a purple-blueish cape, that loves to bring darkness to the world and there's only one way to defeat him, which is to find the paddle pop ice creams in various places. This Wall's Paddle Pop ads were very popular at that time, resulting children to buy their ice creams, this includes me. Of course, children love animations and the ads are in cartoon 3D animations which attract children more and more. This is one of a marketing advertising's strategy I belive and they succeeded because the targets were children.
Thus, as a result of the popularity, this ads were made into a movie in a form of a disc. We can purchase the disc/CD by buying 5 paddle pop ice creams, it is really funny but it is true, because I ever purchased one with my cousin and we watched the CD over and over until we're bored. Eventhough the movie is not as popular like back in the days, the wall's paddle pop adventures ads still keep on showing in the television, or maybe now in the other digital social media platforms too.
