Almost three years ago, when the first case of the COVID-19 virus was found in Indonesia, every aspect of our life suddenly changed. 

Kids who could not go to school, an outdoor activity that was prohibited, and workers who were not able to work as usual. Talking about workers’ activity during COVID 19 Pandemic, the urban working style was also experiencing major changes, including remote working style, massive online meeting usage, and decreased traffic levels in a big city.

At the beginning of COVID-19, a lot of offices applied for the Work From Home policy where their employees freely work from their homes. This condition seems still to be able to be found nowadays. The company considers Work From Home to be safe for their employee and it is effective. 

For years, this remote working style become one of the trends among employer and employees in Indonesia remembering that it is effective and decrease the company’s cost. Furthermore, a lot of employers claimed that there is no different performance compared to the actual attendance in the office.

Discussing about the new working style that was remote, the usage of online meeting applications plays an important role where you could teleconference with your working partner, anytime and anywhere. This phenomenon was one of the biggest changes during the COVID-19 pandemic when everybody, mainly in the Jakarta area was prohibited to travel. 

For that reason, an Online Meeting application was used to deliver the ideas online. Actually, there are a lot of applications that could be used, they are Skype, Google Meeting, Zoom, etc. Employees could choose the application based on their meeting purpose. Remember, each application has its own specification, and workers have the right to choose it.

As a result of Work From Home and Online meetings, vehicle volume in a big city was decreasing. This also occurred due to the limited seats that were applied in public transportation. Human mobility was not high compared to the usual day before COVID-19. 

It can be concluded Work From Home policy and Online meetings affect the traffic in that area specifically since workers do not need to go to the office.

Finally, COVID-19 Pandemic changed a lot of aspects of our life as mentioned before, here we are, trying to face another challenge in the future.
