We all know the feeling of waiting for the perfect weather before starting a painting project. But in reality, if you wait too long, your house will never get painted! So here are some tips on how to paint when the exterior isn't exactly perfect for the season.
At the end of the day, paint and water just don't mix. But you may be wondering: can I paint on a rainy day or even on a day with scattered showers? Will the rain affect the color of my final paint job?
Here are the 5 things to keep in mind when painting in less-than-ideal conditions:
1. DO NOT PAINT when the surface is currently wet (with rain)
2. Never paint when the surface has recently been wet (within the last 4 hours, ideally 1 full day)
3. Interior paint is usually fine
4. Your paint job is not affected by moisture unless condensation forms on the surface
5. Low temperatures: below 10 or above 35 will stop the drying process (curing) of the paint.
One of the ways that you can generate more repaint leads is through online digital advertising.
When can you paint your exterior after the rain?
When it rains, you shouldn't paint the house exterior of your house. This includes all stages: from starting with a dry unpainted surface to a fully cured painted one, no matter how much rain has fallen during this time period. You can expect the surface to dry in about 4 hours, but we recommend waiting up to 12 hours if possible.Â
This time period varies depending on how humid the weather is, or whether it is a cloudy day or a sunny day with direct sunlight on the surface of your property's exterior walls.
