THIS IS THE REASON WHY MUSLIMS ARE OBLIGED TO SUPPORT PALESTINIAN INDEPENDENCE
Israeli military attacks on Palestine have indeed steadily shocked the international world. The conflict between Israel and Palestine has been going on for decades, against the background of Israel's seizure of territorial rights in Palestine ("Awal", 2021). Until now, there has been no bright spot between the two parties, even the attacks continue. Recently the two countries heated up again after initially clashes around the Al-Aqsa mosque and there were attacks by the Israeli military on the Palestinian population. This attack caused severe damage and a large number of casualties ("Awal", 2021).
Not only during the recent attacks, it has been a long time since the Israeli-Palestinian conflict occurred, that various pro and contra parties have emerged. The pro-Palestine side of course supports this country to be able to be independent and live freely and happily. Also, the pro-Palestinians consider Israel's actions truly dishonorable, and this attack is like a massacre of innocent people. Meanwhile, those who are against Palestine or pro-Israel are usually countries that want to cooperate with the Israeli military, because it is known that the military power of this country is one of the strongest in the world. However, now, the number of pro-Palestinians is increasing and spreading throughout the world both from Muslims and non-Muslims. There have been many countries that have held demonstrations to show their support for the Palestinian people. As Muslims, we are obliged to support our brothers in Palestine to be free and live freely.
The first reason, as Muslims and the Indonesian nation, we are obliged to support the independence of the Palestinian state. This is because during the colonial period, Palestine gave its support for Indonesian independence, even though at that time Palestine was also being attacked by the Israeli military (Bramasta, 2021). Now is the time for us to repay their kindness by continuing to support the struggle of our brothers who are struggling to protect their land and homes, as Bung Karno once said, "As long as the independence of the Palestinian people has not been handed over to the Palestinians, that is why the Indonesian nation has stood up to challenge Israel colonialism"(Bramasta, 2021).
The next reason is as a form of concern among Muslims. When our fellow Muslims are under threat, of course other Muslims will also feel sad and hurt. However, even though we cannot directly help our brothers in jihad and fight against the Israeli military, we can continue to assist them by praying, send a little of our sustenance, food and clothing, and continuing to encourage the Palestinian to keep strong. From Nu'man bin Basyir RA, Rasulullah SAW said, "The parable of people who believe in loving, loving, and cherishing one another is like one body. If one of the limbs is sick, the whole body will be awake and hot (will feel the pain too). " (Narrated by Bukhari no 6011 and Muslim no 2586) (Yusuf, 2021).
The last reason why Muslims are obliged to support Palestine is because the Land of Palestine is a very blessed land for Muslims. The land of Palestine is a very blessed land for Islam, its blessings include Palestine as the first Qibla of Muslims, the Place of Isra 'and Mi'raj, the third Great City in Islam, and the Land of Al-Quds which is blessed in several verses of the Al-Quran ("Mengapa", 2021). With all these blessings, we as Muslims are obliged to keep and protect it, even though it is not located in our country, but this blessing belongs to Islam and all Muslims.
The conflict between Israel and Palestine has yet to find a bright spot. Attacks continue to occur. As Muslims we must continue to support Palestine in order to gain their land and be independent. Show concern among fellow Muslims in fighting Israeli atrocities and reclaiming the blessed Palestinian territory.
