Have you imagine there was a ship with weigh 2.600 ton in the earth? It since 2004, there was tsunami in Aceh. The tsunami that swept the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004 did not only bring damage and casualties. The incident also swept away the PLTD Apung, a power plant ship that rests in Banda Aceh's Ulee Lheue Port In that time there is one of ship called PLTD Apung.

PLTD Apung located in the Punge Blang Cut area, Banda Aceh, NAD, Indonesia. This ship weighs 2,600 tons with a length of 63 meters and an area of 1,900 M2. With the size and weight of this ship, we cannot imagine what the magnitude of the Tsunami wave at that time was so that it was able to throw this ship for 4-5 Km more than its original location around Ulee Lheue Port.

Currently around the PLTD Apung stairs have been built around it so that the visiting tourists can see each side. Visitors are also permitted to enter this  PLTD Apung. In addition, near the PLTD Apung there is a room was also set up featuring several photographs after the 2004 Aceh Tsunami Disaster. It is strongly recommended to look at these photos.

To reach the location of the PLTD Apung you can use  public transport in the Uleee Lheue department down at the Punge Blang Cut intersection or to make it easier to ride a motorcycle or Becak at a rate of Rp25,000.00 from Terminal Keudah, Banda Aceh.
